3 Ways to Keep Your Items Off the Floor
If you live in an area of the country where flooding occurs, you may be interested in keeping items in your home or yard off of the ground. It may also be beneficial to keep items off of the floor or ground if you have wild animals, pets, or children that may break or hurt themselves on your items. Regardless of the size or weight of your items, there is a way to store almost anything off of the ground.
Cantilever Racks
If you have a lot of large, long items that need to be stored off of the ground, cantilever storage racks might be a great option for you. These racks are durable and made to hold heavy, large, long, and otherwise awkward items off of the ground. Things such as wood, pipes, poles, and fencing can easily be stored up high, resulting in a potentially longer shelf life. If you store your items outside, a cantilever storage rack will allow you to keep your items off the ground and away from insects, wild animals, mud, and weeds. It also allows you to see your items much easier than if you kept them on the ground.
Wall Mounts
If the items you need to keep off of the ground are not oversized or are single items, such as a bike, a snowboard, it may be beneficial for you to look into wall mounts. These mounts can be used in houses, garages, or even outside. Wall mounts can help keep animals, dirt, and rust from building up on your items. They can also help save your items if flooding occurs in or around your home. However, because these items will be hanging from a wall, it is important that they are not very heavy. For example, while a bike might fit fine on a wall mount, a motorcycle may not.
Shelves
A third option for keeping items off of the floor is through shelving units. These can provide off the floor housing to a plethora of light items. These items must be small and light (in comparison to the previously mentioned items). However, a bonus for shelves is that you can showcase lots of your items at once. Things such as books, vases, or knickknacks can be great to house on shelves. These are all items that you may want to keep out of reach from pets or children, but you would still like displayed.
While you may be eager to get your items up and out of the mud, be sure to examine what kind of items you would like to keep off of the ground prior to purchasing any shelving, racks, or mounts.
