The young and rich entrepreneur Alex Mendieta
The tale of one of the most successful Philanthropists and Entrepreneurs, Alejandro Mendieta Blanco (Alex), is not common. For the first time, we get to know about his inception, struggles, and achievements. This compiling comes from the eyes of the people who have been acquainted with him, entirely from other noted business figures, celebrities, to his ex-assistant. We are sure his story is one that you will enjoy reading.
How it began
Alex Mendieta was born in Colombia in a well-to-do family; however, all this rhythm got lost when his father, a famous Colombian Doctor, lost all of his fate when Alex was just about 9. In various interviews, Alex considers this event to be the best thing of his life. He says, “I experienced first-hand what it was like not to have money; not having money was embarrassing, frustrating, and I saw my parents constantly fighting. So I made myself a promise that I would become rich no matter what. When I grew up, I never forgot that promise and the pain that came from not having money”. When he became 15, equipped with a flaming desire, Alex did something like no Colombian had done it before; he dropped out of school and, through an escapement, managed to acquire his high school diploma. He finished his school life around 3 years before any of his mates.
Reason for shifting to Australia
Due to not speaking English, he shifted to Melbourne, Australia, alone when he was 16. He had convinced his dad anyhow to get him a one-way ticket to Melbourne, and he would take care of the rest himself. He was engaged in cleaning, washing dishes, and any weird job he could get. In an interview, he later said that this was the hardest time of his life, but he did not give up on anything.
Facing Success in Life
Success did not come to the young Alex in a hurry, and he failed in 7 different ventures before his first win. In his opinion, “one of my best qualities is my overly optimistic attitude. This cushioned the blows, especially at the start when I failed so many times”. His business empire has grown day by day, and his companies’ yearly turnover has conquered almost $200,000,000 every year since 2017. He expects to hit a $500,000,000 turnover for the first time in 2021.
Beneficence
Now, this particular side of Alex was a big surprise to most of us. Even though he has been continuing his philanthropy work for many years, it recently came to light. Alex has his own two self-funding charities since 2016. The prime one is named “Give a child a bike,” which donates over 500 bikes to the most disadvantaged kids in Vietnam every year, so they don’t have to walk for hours to school every day. His second charitable work is the “Alex Mendieta Scholarship,” which helps multiple international students forward their university studies every year.
