Make Your Plane Trip More Pleasant
Feeling comfortable on a plane can make the difference between a wonderful trip where you arrive feeling refreshed, and a miserable trip where you arrive at your destination needing a nap. Whether you are embarking on a short, two-hour journey or an eight-hour overseas crossing, here are some ways to make your next plane trip more pleasant.
Dress Comfortably
Plane travel is not the time to break into a new pair of shoes or a new outfit. Slip into something loose-fitting that you know you will feel comfortable and relaxed wearing for hours at a time. It might also be a good idea to bring a change of shirt or pants in your carry-on bag in case you spill your in-flight beverage during a bout of turbulence. The only thing worse than uncomfortable clothing is having to sit through the duration of the flight in wet clothes.
Bring Headphones
Despite all of the advances made in airplane parts and aircraft fasteners, airplanes can be very loud. It is a good idea to bring headphones or earbuds to help cancel out some of the noise coming from jet engines or from fellow passengers. Have some of your favorite music pre-downloaded on your electronic device to avoid being tempted to pay for potentially pricey wi-fi on the plane.
Hydrate
Because the cabins of airplanes have low humidity levels, plane rides can dehydrate you, making you thirsty and causing your skin to become dry. Drink plenty of water before and during your journey, avoid excessive alcohol intake, and pack a skin moisturizer and lip balm in your carry-on luggage for application during the trip. If possible, fill a reusable water bottle at the airport before taking off.
These tips can help make your next plane ride more pleasant and comfortable so that you arrive at your destination ready to start your vacation.
