History of Astrology
In ancient times when the term “Telescopes” never existed, looking at the sky the only thing that people knew were the two very similar appearing components. Motionless stars that never moved and remained fixed at a single place in relation to each other and moving starts which use to wander around a fixed star and completed the rotation within year(s). The wandering stars were called “asteres planetai” in Roman and “ἀστέρες πλανῆται” in Ancient Greek. The earliest astronomers/astrologers were the Ancient Greeks and they learned from Babylonians. They considered five planets that were visible to the naked human eyes and excluded The Sun, The Moon, and the earth itself. Since they only considered 5 wandering stars as planets and after including the sun and moon it became 7 classical planets which were considered as seven gods by ancient Babylonians, Greeks, Persians, Romans, and others. Since they considered the planets as their gods they named their 7 days of the week after them.
Modern Astrology
Modern astrologers believe that in astrology the stars can play roles as influencing basic urges, and as energy flow regulators. The qualities of different planets are represented differently in different houses and different zodiacs, the planets are related to each other too in different aspects. In modern Astrology different astrologers have different beliefs, some believe that planets directly affect astrology through their gravitational forces while others say that planets can not directly influence astrology themselves but they act as mirrors of basic organizing principles.
